Up early to see the team off for Fun Day. They left at 7am for the 3 hour drive to the Canopy Tour (zipline) in Masaya. They were sleepy when they left and I think more than a few would be snoozing on the ride over.
After the zipline, they went to lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. Then they headed to Catarina for some shopping. They stopped at the National Park to see the Mombacho volcano. After dinner of pizza, they headed back and arrived home about 8:30pm. It was a long day for them, but they had a good time.
While the team was gone having fun, I grabbed a quick nap, which I very much needed and appreciated! Lesly and Jaasiel worked on sorting all the stuff that was stored in the office/storage room as well as the stuff the teams had brought down. We gave some clothing to the workers and then the rest was packed into old suitcases and taken to give away at Monte Horeb (Sewer Pond). Everything looks so nice and tidy now. Sherry grabbed some time in the pool while the team was gone and Mary did a little laundry and relaxed a little bit.
Estafanie came to the Mission House about 3pm to go over the material for the Bible Study we would do at ROSCC at 5pm. She did very well. The ladies liked her a lot, even though they miss seeing Lesly. The Bible Study was good and the ladies enjoyed it. They said they like the format of having handouts and homework (scripture to memorize). I’m always so blessed to be with those ladies.
About 9pm, the team gathered for a last meeting with Mike. We appreciate them coming to work with us. We can’t do what God is calling the ministry to do without teams of workers coming. We are thankful for every single person who comes to Nica to work with us.
Most everyone packed their stuff, staged their suitcases to be loaded onto the vans and then showered and relaxed (if not sleep) so they would be ready for the 2:30am wakeup call.
I slept very well knowing that I would get to go back to bed after the team leaves at 3am. And I really enjoyed the evening of talking with Cathy while she used my computer for some last minute facebook updates and emails. I will miss her greatly and I’m so glad that she got to come down. How awesome is our God!
